Finally! Broke the 12 second barrier

Apparently my previous tune was no good. My current tuner stated I was running lean at WOT, and that there was no timing added. Car is running better much smoother on the high rpm range.

Decent pass, you need some drag radials. The launch is killing your ET. Good MPH, you should be running 11.60s with those mods. It is really hauling down track.

Nice! These cars look like strong runners. These passes are with all the mods in sig?
120mph is good for low 11s if you can get that 60’ down. Do you happen to know what stall speed that stock stall is?

Nice time. Can’t believe you had the patience to do that on a street tire!

Yes, same mods in sig, and stock stall is 2400 I believe?

My goal was to break the 12 sec barrier, before I start dabbling with drag radials. Plus I figure it gives me time to learn about the car, how to handle the power etc.

That 11.900 run I was the first one on the freshly prepped track, so instead of dealing with someone else's sloppy seconds, they had to deal with mine.

Congratulations brother, you finally broke through Good info on the tune, too. The launch cost you about 2-3 tenths, you should be good at least for an 11.6 with drag radials.

My tuner says, I can probably reach 11.1 to 11.2 with drags, and maybe if the stars and planets align correctly even a high 10. It was hard enough to break 12 though. So I'm trying to be more realistic. I figure 11.4 to 11.6 should be reasonable to expect.

That was cool and fun, thanks for the ride. my 23 1SS is still at 1200 miles and getting the easy ride for now.
I made a few passes in the 21 1SS I had and ran 12.40 bone stock and was going rounds till I met multi time world champ Tex Miller. I did good on the dial but he clipped me a few thousands on the tree. cant wait to try the 23 car this fall at the Stock and Super Stock race at Mason Dixon Dragway.

I have a mid 9 second N/SS (nostalgia super stock) Impala so no mods to my Camaro are planned as of yet.
I noticed you had it in manual mode during the burnout, were you using the line lock? I didnt see you hit the buttons to release the front brakes or did you spin until the timer let go of the brakes? Also what gear heating the tires? Did you leave on the launch mode or launch it yourself? hard to tell. Also, I forgot to count gears when I ran mine. glad I could see on your video it's the top of 5th gear. thanks. I sold that car to get the 23 but wrote all the launch setup numbers down.

Anyhow, cool car and thanks for sharing a ride along. congrats on busting into the 11s.

PS: my buddy John Evans took Tex Miller and his mustang super stocker out with his COPO that day.

I think 11.40 or 11.30 on a good DA and Temp day. Don't think with your mods you'll get in the 10.00s.
My C7 had almost identical mods except I had a Ported Msd, otherwise all the same mods. I ran best of 10.90@128, my Corvette only weighed 3300 with drag pack and driver and I weigh 200 lbs Your probably 3800 since you've gotten rid of the stock exhaust, that's about 50 lbs more then the SE headers and no cats. So I think I'll be close at 10.30 on a good day when you get some drag radials.

I do not use line lock. I use manual mode to keep it in 1st gear when I do the burnout.

I do not use Launch control either. Just the tried and true brake torque burnout and launch.

I was however, in Track Mode with ESC Comp Mode on and Stabilitrak, (double tap TC off option)

And I have to admit COPO Camaros make me moist. Love watching those youtube videos.

Well my next set of mods.

1. Get rid of the stock suitcase (should free up some more weight)
2. Carbon Fiber hood
3. Carbon fiber Decklid
4. Back Seat Delete
5. Carbon Fiber wrap on the roof (Vanity I know)
6. Maybe an aftermarket aluminum/carbon fiber drive shaft

Figure that should free up maybe 100lbs or so. Trying to get rid of my body weight in weight reduction. ~250lbs
