Things to see in detroit

Ordered a car from Becky, flying in to get it. I can't be the first one to ask, so just point me to the previous thread if there is one, but...

What would be worth an afternoon's detour to see? Anything? It's not like I'm going to mind driving the new car.

Congrats on your new car! In Detroit you may want to check out the Henry Ford museum, it is one of my favourite places to go. There are some other nice museums as well. If you are a fan of Hard Core Pawn their shop is easy to find and the owners were really interesting to talk to if they aren't busy. My wife always wants me to take her shopping around Detroit so I don't get downtown often, if shopping is your thing I can recommend more places than a self-respecting male should be able to.

If you want to go for a nice drive in the countryside you may want to take Rt. 12 past Ann Arbor. That road is beautiful as it passes through the Irish Hills with some nice curvy roads and eventually you will pass Michigan International Speedway as well as. You could do some photos if the weather cooperates.

Girlfriend is from Detroit and this is fairly accurate.

Drive up or down Woodward ave. if you want to potentially see some nice cars. Take a picture of the new purchase in front of GM HQ which is at the very end of Woodward Ave in Detroit.

Also a fantastic Irish pub in Birmingham if you want some food outside of the city, roughly 15-20 minutes. Or Slow's BBQ in Detroit.

I lived outside of Detroit for 10 years. Nothing to see there. Move along.

What on earth made you think that this was a good time to make a political statement!?
Michigan Governor Rick Snyder appointed Kevyn Orr as emergency manager to oversee Detroit financial operations on March 14, 2013 and they would be what? Oh ya conservatives, but hey, let`s not try to throw in a political shot when the opportunity arises huh!
