You tube may start charging us to watch our race videos !!!!!!!!!
Saw it on the news that you tube may start charging to post and watch videos...
so much for sharing and watching race,and cars for free....i guess they arent making enough with the ad's we have to put up with already....I was in the middle of posting a video of my ZL1 on the dyno at FASTLANE when it came on last night...

someone else would make an identical website that doesn't charge and everybody would switch to it. YouTube would be killing itself if they did that. (that's 'murica's free market economy for ya)

It's a legit report, but the subscription is for specialty channels. Not normal video uploads. The best thing to do is not subscribe to anything they charge for and let them know why. I bet the subscription charging for specialty channels will then go away.

Yeah, I don't have a problem with anyone making a buck, it's the American way. But they need to go with the business model that has worked for them.
Of course Twitter has yet to turn a profit with their ad sales, ever, so maybe this free to the consumer thing won't stick around. Even still though, Twitter is going public. Not a stock I'd hang on too long term, can probably make a buck off of it in the beginning though.
