I see your signature says you drive a2.0 turbo? I have an SS automatic with 2 inch headers and I don’t really have any of the noises you describe. Is your sound tube still in place?

I don’t have any cats or resonators. I have the Texas speed 2 inch headers and x pipe into a flowmaster NPP axle back.

Maybe make sure that the headers aren’t touching a heat shield somewhere rattling? I’d also make sure all the clamps are tight. With headers you do get a little more valve train noise but it’s like that for all cars.

Sorry I wasn’t anymore help.

I have a 2018 Sierra 5.3 w/headers, no cats, and a 210/230 cam. I have the sound you are describing. I recently swapped to a more quiet muffler and I notice it more now. I'll try to post a video and hopefully it will capture the sound. When you say "tinny", that's a good description of mine.

@pmoore4321 yes tinny i have only muffler no cats was thinking to put borla resonators back on i have no cats aswell and its also a ticking sewing machine at low rpms from the collectore area aswell. And @6speed hyper blue tuned by rdp dyno steve remotely i was wondering if its the limited tune due to using a sctbdx device

You are going to hear more engine noise with headers over manifolds and "tinny" could be used to describe it I guess, then again you could be describing pinging.

Its ticking and pinging tinny mettalic especially when im next to wallks cruising or in an area were the sound can reverberate off of things i guess the nature of a straight thru exhaust with just mufflers

I think tinny means raspy.

I have heard similar stories regarding "ticking" and aftermarket headers. Apparently it just comes with the territory.

Haha...I don't even have to make a video. That's EXACTLY what mine does. Drive along side a concrete wall and really notice it. I checked and double-checked for leaks, I think it's just the way it is. I actually kind of like the sound, but maybe some don't.

I think that's what it is. I have Speed Engineering headers which are made of thin material anyway, probably makes it more noticeable.
