CTS V coupe vs cam SS

Ever wonder what a cammed SS would do vs a V coupe? I always did, got my chance today! From a slow roll 15-20 or so, we romped on it! He started slighty behind me but took the hit, I punched it and pulled a solid 1.5 cars on him by the middle of second gear. We kept our foot in it and he just sat in my rear view and once I hit the top of second about 7k I seemed to have inched a little more room. I let off about 110, and he zipped by and never slowed down to say good race! He thought he was gonna put this camaro in his place.... Wrong!

Nice, that sounds about right for your trap speed.

Thanks, it should trap 118+ now that I have lighter wheels too. Took 60lbs off the front with the wheels!

Definitely a good run. They are low 12 cars stock, so very believable beating a stock V by that much. Your car runs/pulls hard man.

What kind of wheels are those? They look like Racestars.

Thanks, yes they are Race Star 17 fronts and 18s rear. I really did not know what to expect, but was cool to actually take him down. I figured he would start to pull me but it seemed I kept gaing. My car trapped 117.7 with the stock 20s in front with 275 tires, so I think the skinnies are gonna help a bit. From what I was finding they avg 117 traps as well.

Great run man!! That must have been exciting. I always assumed it would be a drivers race between a ZL1/CTS-V vs. a cammed SS due to the similar RWHP(depending on cam) and lighter weight of the SS. Great to see(or read) some proof!!
