A8 in the V6 camaro, any issues?

Does the V6 A8 cars have the dreaded ADM, or is it V8 A8 cars only?

Only issue is that it is not a 6m.

It's on any GM car or truck with the A8- Camaros, Corvettes, Colorados and Silverados so yes V6 Camaros are included.

So the ADM on the V8 puts the car in V4 mode, what does it do to the V6?
and does the V6 auto trans car's have the valves in the exhaust like the V8 cars do .

The V6 goes to v4....just like the V8. 11,000 miles on my A8 transmission, not a single problem. Works perfect.

NPP is the “valves in exhaust” - yes option on V6, just like V8. This option has nothing to do with transmissions.

You lost me for a second. When I see ADM i think additional dealer mark up, but you mean AFM for Active Fuel Management. In that case Glen e pretty much explained it. I've had both V6 and V8 6th gens and they both get great mileage. I really can never tell the difference for when the vehicle shifts to and from V4.

The LT1 C7 corvette's have NPP also, but there is another set of valves in the exhaust further upstream to allow a quieter sound when in V4 mode, the Camaro doesn't have those?

No torgue converter issues or shutter like the Camaro SS guys and many of the corvette guys are complaining about all related to AFM V4 mode?

They can all potentially have torque converter and shudder issues. It's any car with the A8.

I have a 1LT v6 manual car now and love it. No AFM to worry about. But A friend of mine wants the car in April and I was contemplating a V6 A8 to replace it. I am not sure I want to got down that road. I have a manual C7 corvette also and I will never get a A8 C7, they are having a ton of torque converter issues and not sure the 18's are corrected.

Problems left unresolved: v4 shake while in v4 mode and light on throttle, still have odd shifting behaviour though it has become better (feels like the car labors between gears, but it shifts smooth 90% of the time now. Car thunks into and out of reverse.

One more annoying new one: car won’t shift into gear 2 fast enough after redline, resulting in lower 0-60 speeds than advertised, and also you hear the car not go “vrrrroooom, shift-pew, vroooom”. Instead, you hear the engine rev neutral and then get into gear. Almost like it has to bring the rpm’s down by 200 or so to make the shift. Not satisfying.

And I am a stickler about redline shifts and super quick enough and hard enough to bark tires when at WOT, especially the 1-2 shift. I have watched many video's showing early 1-2, 2-3 shifts at WOT on A8 vettes and Camaro's

I would not get the A8, stay with M/T. The dealer acknowledged that it's a huge issue for GM and they are still getting a handle on it. I usually go manual transmission in my cars and I opted for automatic this time only due to that I liked the package this car came with and the A8 was rated for better fuel economy. I'll for sure stick with manual on anything I buy going forward after this on anything I buy.

If I were you I'd get the SS with M/T- has much more power than the V6, same if not better MPG and better resale value.

I have not had any issues with the V4 mode, and I've had mine V8 since May 2017. I think it is pretty much luck of the draw with the A8.
