Hoping for some advice from anyone that tunes their audio system.

When I'm tuning I like to do it in the car and it takes about an hour or so. I put the car into Accessory/Service Mode by pressing the start button for 10 seconds.
I have a charger connected to the power points under the hood.

However, after about 20 minutes, the car goes into battery saver mode and I need to stop and leave it for an hour or so connected to the charger and then continue.

My charger only supplies 30A but the system tuning is done at low volume and should not be using even that much.

What charger are people using for this and in what mode? I need the car to stay powered and supply at east 12.8V the entire hour.

Can you not just let it idle while you're messing with it?

i don't think that is a function of your charger, I think that is the software saying the car has been left alone, and needs to shut off before the battery dies.

i think you will just have to cycle the key every so often?

Nah, he said he's using service mode, which is indefinite.

It's kinda surprising that audio alone would suck down enough amperage to kill the battery while it's being charged... the charger he uses looks beefy enough, too. Strange.

OP, silly as it may sound, but you did turn off the headlights in service mode, right? Other than that, I can't think of a good reason apart from the battery being really old and weak.

The battery is new as of August...but I never thought to check if the headlights are on. Good idea, I'll double check.
