Track tire pressure (Nankang CRS)
Hey guys.
So far I've been using the OEM Goodyear SC3 around 34-36 PSI hot on track, which seems to have worked well given how well they wore and their supreb grip. I just switched to Nankang CRS with the same OEM tire sizes on stock wheels, for the upcoming local time attack championship. I've used these tires on my previous car, a turbo GT86 which was running 255s, but it considerably lighter per mm of tread, and on that it seems to have liked around 35+-2 PSI front and rear. Has anyone got any experience with the CRS? Or any idea on ideal hot pressures for that tire? Or perhaps similar tires to it such as A052s which behave quite similarly? Thank you! |

On a much lighter car, we were pretty happy with 33psi hot.

For all my time attack events I run all my tire pressures as low as possible. I start them at 20psi cold, same for any other tire.
Not sure what type of time attack event you are running but as long as you can get heat into them before your hot lap then I would personally go really low. If you are running something similar to autocross then I would go up in pressures(I would personally start with 27 and play around from there). I ran my CRS V2's at 21psi cold for time attack event at CMP and they worked well. Last edited by Christian1LE; 05-20-2024 at 04:05 PM. |
