Sounds like an iced up evap coil.

Replace the cabin air filter. If that doesn't do it, remove it entirely. If it still happens, then it's probably something else:
  • loose wire/plug on the control module (BCM?),
  • WOT switch,
  • blower motor overtemp,
  • blower/AC control module overtemp,
  • engine overtemp, primary radiator cooling fan overtemp,
  • HVAC faulty hi-pressure switch, and/or bad expansion valve.

It's mostly ranting problems with few solutions, but the first story suggested replacing "the HVAC temp actuator on the left side of the system" was the fix for a problem similar to what you describe.
