I'm not a fan of the C8 so far but I'll reserve final opinion when it's fully revealed. Corvette DNA has always been front-engine and it's hard to wrap my mind around a mid-engine Corvette. Additionally, there's supposed to be no manual transmission option, which is sad.
I heard the C7 Corvette will remain in production through the 2020 model year but I don't know if it will continue beyond. Think of it as the 2020 Corvette "Classic".
I also heard a rumor the date on the door also represents the C8's Nurburgring time (7:18.19). If true, that is VERY impressive for the 'base' model C8.
