No one said it has to be 5.5 liters but the issue with DOHC is, the more displacement, the much bigger the engine. The 6.2 LT1 is about the same size and weight as the 5.0 Coyote, despite the Coyote having smaller bore centers. DOHC is massive for the same displacement and they may not be able to physically fit a 6.2 liter DOHC V8 in the Camaro.
