I’m no expert, particularly with the new(er) direct injection motors, but in the LS motors you typically will lose a lot more torque than what you’ll gain in HP, unless you are no longer stock bore. I had dual electric cutouts on my 4th ge at the headers and it proved true in my instance, but it was just a big cam car. I enjoyed them for car shows and cruising to show off that cam lope though! For performance and tuning consistency I’d agree with the tuner and move them back. That extra pipe provides a lot of back pressure consistency.
