Clear coat is the clear finish thats sprayed over the colored paint. It protects the paint and gives a car its high gloss. All cars are painted this way, have been for some years now as its a more durable finish. Some people choose to paint the stripes and stop there, others prefer to clear coat over them. The latter is more expensive, but gives a higher gloss and more durable finish. Either way it will look nice.
