That’s what happens when the design department uses its best ideas on the original version of a car and has to scramble for BandAids when the marketing department wants a refresh 3 years later. Look back through history - the original styling of a model is almost always the best, and the refreshed versions look like new parts have just been tacked on.
The black plastic surrounds on the ‘19 Camaro tailights look like they’re filling the same holes as the taillights on the ‘16-‘18 models, even though the tops of the bumpers on the ‘19s have been dimpled. I wonder if the taillights are interchangeable?
