The instant reading on the fuel reading is pretty much worthless, probably why they don't have it.
My Corvette has that, but what good does it do?
Very easy to make it read in the 50 to 60 mpg range by just letting off the throttle going down a long grade.
But then watch it drop into the single digits going up a hill.
Instant means nothing, other than the amount of fuel flowing that "instant".
It is constantly changing.
At least with the average reading, you'll get an idea of what real fuel mileage your getting.

I believe GM has already announced the next gen Camaro will be on a slightly smaller, lighter platform.
We just don't know what the design will look like yet.
