The issue is the high compression LT1 loves and really needs more Octane. Aside from octane Ethanol aids in cooling the piston and keeping the rings from butting. 99% of LT1 failures are on pump gas and even meth. Meth works if done correctly but it needs to have at least 50% water mixed in to aid in removing heat from the cylinder.

I wouldn't even boost a stock bottom end LT1 if I was admin on running 91 octane. Can it be done sure...stock fuel system 91 octane and 7psi with 12 degrees of timing is about max.

The car might run a touch better then a header, lt2 intake, cai car with E85 and 28 degrees of timing. The reason is the difference in timing.

Feed the FI setup the octane it needs to get timing back up near MBT(20-21degrees) then it will be a entirely different animal.
