GForce items are not cheap but they are really strong based on everything I have read and heard. I evaluated the "Outlaw" model axle shaft but that was capacity overkill and too pricey at $1,700. I saw 800+-RWHP (not 1,000-1,250 RWHP) as my maximum output after a Phase 3/4 LT4 type fuel upgrade. So I went with the lower cost --- relatively speaking --- GForce "850HP" model axle shafts at $1,200 before speed shop discount.

I thought about ordering ZL1 driveshaft to save money but I saw that as half-way measure if I went further up the HP ladder.

I evaluated the forum's message threads on durability of the OEM driveshaft (and axle shafts) and the stories were generally positive. A8 under 600 RWHP-probably won't break. I am not a "probably" type girl. When I step in, I want to win not place -- but not at expense of my personal safety. having things that spin at high rates blow up near me makes me want to open my purse......

My shop told me that given my current tires there was a low probability that my axle or driveshaft would break because the Michelin PSS4 305/30-20 tires would act as a safety valve. The rear tires would turn into puddles of rubber on hard off-the-line acceleration with 565 RWHP with the A8 tranny affording a little bit of buffer versus a M6 "drop-the-clutch" at 3,500+ RPM. But part of my master plan in Phase 3 is to go with 315/30-20 Toyo R888R on rear so I can get some serious hookup at launch short of drag radials. JPC said that solves one problems and creates another - now the drive train would be between rock and a hard place.

Bottom line was I wanted insurance.

In interests of absolute candor, drive train upgrade project has been paid for but not all parts have arrived from GForce (still waiting on axle shafts). So technically this mod is "not yet completed".
I am all about safety!!!!! definitely agree with your decision making regarding that.

Those gforce pictures are like pornography & your making me want to swipe the credit card haha. Buttttt, I think I address my poor stock stall converter first before anymore mods/improvements though. Mine's starting to show its true colors

awesome build, keep posting your progress as you continue to hot-rod!
