Technically it should make it glossy, but definitely don't recommend doing to either Amazon or AliExpress emblems. I've scuffed the flat black with 600 and it doesn't take much at all to get through the black.
Differences I noticed handling both emblems at separate times... None anyone else would notice while on the car though.
Chinese emblems feel like they weigh more
OEM bottom is slightly contoured
The red inlay is larger on Chinese
The red inlay is not removable on Chinese, has clear epoxy over
The red inlay on OEM is more sunken in (not counting epoxy)
The 1 seems to be slightly different.
