It is true, many places dynoed open/closed made no difference.

Actually let me edit this...
Its possible to actually lose a bit of power with the hood open with a RF.... IF you've got no fans/airflow around the intake because IAT's would go up as its sucking in hot engine air.. Stock box is pretty much opposite of this, sealed gets air from bottom. Now of course everyone who runs a dyno uses fans, but i just wanted to throw that out there because that will be the next question asking for scientific proof. Unless you want to be like
Idaho2018GTPremium and do some 60-130 pulls with hood open, that be cool too. The weakest link is pretty much the stock air filter itself, not the actual intake.
Also, the RF was designed to run with the hood down and of course moving.
