The main reason they do not include an aftermarket hood is to help decrease engine bay temps and increase convective cooling by exposing the supercharger to ambient air. Stuffing a larger supercharger into an enclosed space is going to increase temps no matter how tall the hood is. Their triple intercooler set up along with the "hole" in the hood helps with intake air temperature. You can see the heat coming off the supercharger lid and out of the hole when the engine is running.
