You can't compare your 2004 Tahoe, it had a cable. These are drive by wire. Same thing with my '07 Avalanche vs my '21 Sierra Elevation 5.3L, I'd take a cable any day of the week to this BS drive by wire crap.

With that being said....I hate the throttle response with my '18 SS 1LE. If you switch to Track mode every time you start the car it's much more responsive. It doesn't correct the crapshoot of "tip in" each time you hit the throttle but it certainly improves the lag that exists in the other driving modes. On a road course, none of this really matters once in Track mode. If I was a drag racer I probably would have sold it right away because of the throttle response.
