This is likely how it is for most if not all newer cars. One thing that seems to be universal is to take it extra easy the first 100 miles or so(no sudden starts, extended redline, hard on the brakes..) and to vary your rpm when cruising not using cruise control. Unfortunately dealer lot test driven cars are likely driven pretty hard during the first 100 miles...
I bought my 2SS used with 1100 miles so what was done was done prior.
Anyway, if something goes wrong, that's what warranty is for.
If you properly maintain, don't run hard when cold or abuse your cars, they should last a long time regardless of the break in.
