I used to remove the firewall w/strip on 2 different C7s I had. When I used to sit in traffic for one our big cruise nights by the time I got in and parked my wiper arms and blades were hot to touch because of all the heat the fans way up front were pushing out of that non sealed area now where the hood comes down and seals against the w/strip. This time of year I would also drain and keep at least 3/4 of the antifreeze, fill it with water and add a water wetter.
Oh I remember how hot my C7 would get, it would be 220 at the end of the track, it seemed to cool down quicker then the Camaro. I'll pull the hood insulator before I drive it again. Got have the windows tinted tomorrow and its going to be in the upper 90s so I'll see how it does. I've used the Water Wetter in the past, not sure it helps much, I've also used VPs. Thanks for the info.
