GM does not make a 180 degree, has to be from the aftermarket. Regarding the hood insulation, it holds heat . After you remove the rain deflector, feel the heat coming up out of the extractor with the hood closed. Many little ways to let out heat helps imo. I used to remove the firewall w/strip on 2 different C7s I had. When I used to sit in traffic for one our big cruise nights by the time I got in and parked my wiper arms and blades were hot to touch because of all the heat the fans way up front were pushing out of that non sealed area now where the hood comes down and seals against the w/strip. This time of year I would also drain and keep at least 3/4 of the antifreeze, fill it with water and add a water wetter.
