That's very unfortunate...glad he's ok. In a spin, 2 feet in! (Well just 1 foot on the brake pedal in this case since the car has no clutch pedal.) Not sure why he ignored this fundamental track teaching and jumped off of the brakes without reapplying them after being very sideways while sliding towards the sloped dirt off to the side of the paved track surface.

Also if he didn't suddenly go from 80%+ throttle to 0% he may have caught the slide without overcorrecting. Of course it is easy to analyze it afterwards from the comfort of my couch but fundamentals like those should be thoroughly learned/practiced before a driver tries slicks IMO.
