I did the front of my car myself with gloss PPF and am a little sorry I did. It came out pretty good but not quite perfect and it took me all f#$in' day. Saved a ton of cash though, spend $600 on PPF and would have spent $3kish for it all installed. If I were to do it again I'd do it all myself except the front bumper.

Yeah, the front takes a day, and then the rest of the car takes a day haha
If you decide to keep the black matte on the hood, matte ppf looks good on top of the oem matte wrap.
Personally I like the black hood, even on the nightfall grey, adds a nice contrast
