But if you don’t want to go that route. Ask your original ordering dealer do they have allocation or not. If the dealer doesn’t have allocation then your order will sit there. You also need to see if they will let you cancel and what sort of negative effects, if any, there are. Then if you shop around at another dealer, first thing to ask is, “do you have allocation for [insert year, make, model, trim]?”

But it wouldn’t hurt to call and ask to speak to the fleet manager or ordering manager at your dealership to see what’s going on.
