Smile Finally the Major Build by CSP Finished - Learning to Manage

In mid-2019 I decided to research which professional shop on East Coast would undertake a major build to bring the car to a new level where it would be very competitive on the drag strip (possibly track) while remaining street legal, retain reliabilitym and be drivable without too many quirks.

After much deliberation, I selected Complete Street Performance (CSP) in West Chester PA to advise me on what was needed, do the install and integration work, then tune engine and trans, plus conduct street tests using my various tire/wheel sets (Michelin PS4 20" 30 series summer tire set on MRR 017 wheels, M/T Street SS drag radials on MRR 017 rims, and a full set of 17" Forged Star rims with front skinnies and rear M/T Street Rs).

The build started in mid-October and completed mid-January; due to cold weather I had car delivered via enclosed carrier last Friday. Long wait but totally worth it.

Now I have to (re) learn to drive (or manage) an 800+ RWHP/700+ RWTQ vehicle. CSP recommended I go slow to accliminate to the new level of performance-- particulary since the weather is cool and traction will be an issue with street tires no matter the temperature conditions.

I have driven it once for 30 minutes. As CSP told me, it is louder now that cat deletes and AFM valve in Borla S exhaust removed. Much. The car shudders at idle now due to the lopey cam--takes some getting used to. The FTI 3200RPM torque converter changed the personality of low speed in-town driving .... like having a manual 6-speed and gently sliding the clutch at launch or light accelerator shifts. I modestly punched it once - and it locked up. Obviously, the car has crossed a line from street-oriented to strip-focused. Car burns more gas--no surprise. MPG stats not in but did get chance to fill up witha few gallons of E-85. Wish there were more stations that offered E-85 around here...

Some of the details are listed below......fortunately I had alreadytaken care of the suspension (BMR/GM ZL1/Eibach) and drivetrain (GForce) upgrades in place to handle the dramatically increased HP and torque, besides being able to leverage past engine upgrade investments like the full-length Kooks headers.

Replaced 6.2L 376CI LT1 OEM w/Texas Speed & Performance (TSP) 7.0L 427CI LT1 Sleeved Longblock:
-Custom Assembled New GM Block w/Darton Sleeves w/Wet Sump
-TSP Forged Stroker Crank
-TSP Forged H Beam Rods w/APR Hardware
-Wiseco Pistons w/Upgraded Wrist Pins (-10cc)
-ARP Main Stud Kit, ARP Head Studs
-PRC CNC Ported LT1 Cylinder Heads, Johnson 2110R Lifters
-TSP Dual Spring Kit w/Ti Retainers, Hardened Pushrods
-GM Head Gaskets
-Custom Camshaft w/38% Fuel Lobe (.229/.244,.635/.635, 115 + 5, 38% fuel lobe)
-GM Timing Set/GM Oil Pump/GM Exhaust Manifold Gaskets
-DoD/VVT Delete Kit
--Transfer parts from OEM block, e.g. intake manifold, etc.

Other Engine & Cooling Mods:
-NGK Spark Plugs
-Mighty Mouse Catch Can (6th Gen Camaro Wild)-replace JLT Catch Can
-MSD Spark Plug Wires
-Mishimoto Auxiliary Radiator Kit (replace GM)
-NW TB

Upgrade Supercharger:
-Upgrade Program for Procharger D1X Unit (from P1X w/helical gears)
-ATI Harmonic Balancer Upgrade (include new Procharger crank pulley)
-A&A Raceport Blow Off Valve & Coupler (Replace standard Procharger BOV)
-HD Supercharger Belt Green (Replace stock Procharger belt)

Upgrade Fuel System & Injectors:
-Replace LT1 system w/GM LT4 Fuel System Package (LT4 HPFP and LT4 Injectors)
-Add CSP Custom Low-side Auxiliary Fuel System
-Add Custom CSP Methanol System-in. Trunk Mounted 3-gal Tank & Installation
-Install Lethal Garage E-85 Flex Fuel Kit

Upgrade Transmission:
-FTI 3200RPM Stall Street Race Lock-Up 9.5” Torque Converter SRL98082-3 for 8L90E 8-speed Auto

Performance Exhaust Modifications:
-Catalytic converters delete near Kooks full-length headers
- AFM valve removal on Borla-S Axleback

Dyno & Street Tune:
-Boosted Vehicle, Flex Fuel, 2017+ Vehicle PCM,-TCM Tuning,-FPCM Module Licensing,-Add HP Tuner Interface for Remote Tune Install & Diagnostic

Gauges:
-Baro Breakout Harness w/GM 3 Bar MAP Sensor
-Aeroforce Gauge Interceptor Scan Gauge (augment my existing AFR guage)

Drag Tires:
-20X11" MRR017 black gloss rim w/MT ET Street SS 305/45 drag radials rear
-17x4.5" ForgedStar F14 gunmetal rim w/MT Sportsman SR 26X6 skinnies front.
-17x10" ForgedStar F14 gunmetal rim w/MT ET Street R 315/35 drag radials rear

Cosmetic:
-427 side emblems
-Phastek LED Reverse LED Lamps
-HERO Dark 3rd brake light assembly


More pictures are provided in my profile album. I liked adding a subtle 427 emblem on the side ,,,it is a sleeper in appearance otherwise. The dyno chart key is blue = pump gas w/no meth; red=pump gas w/meth; green=e85 50% w/meth. Baseline was 502 RWP on pump gas in CSP dyno.
