Maybe that has somehting to do with it. I have quite a few 1/4 passes on my, no signs of wear. Maybe something did break. maybe the rubber O-ring around the outer fingers snapped. The hurst one is much more robust, might be worth the switch for you. Its a pain in the ass to install though.
