I've mentioned before, that this is of the utmost importance.
The Corvette has always been a sports car (America's Supercar, as of late) on a budget. With the 6th generation Camaro struggling in sales, due to (IMHO) appearance and price, I believe GM took note of it. A new, bare-bones C7 Stingray will run you ~$56k. If GM keeps the new C8 (budget model) in the neighborhood of $60-65k, I think they'll be ok.
