I may be wrong. I was thinking the non-1LE SS was still using the old 3.42's that GM often uses. I thought more of a "what diff your car has" thing, and was thinking the only cars with the 3.73's was the SS 1LE and M6 ZL1, but I'm probably wrong on that.
BTW I would agree that in that case the LT1 given traction, same transmissions and equal drivers should be slight quicker than the SS cars based on its weight advantage.
