I originally did have it completely turned off and for my driving habits and daily route to work (15mile drive) I lost 4 to 5 mpg avg per tank so I really benefit from it. I haven't had shudder and tuned the trans to hopefully keep it from doing it. The reason I want a higher turn on speed is around town with the slip tables zeroed out the constant engaging into and out of 4 cyl mode is very noticeable. The two main streets in my town have very steep hills, the throttle needed would cause it to kick in and out more then I would like.
