So, after almost 1 year with the ZL1 I love essentially everything about it...EXCEPT 1 damn thing. The freakin' capless fuel tank. OMG.
Half the gas stations I stop at the nozzle gets stuck in the tube and it takes me 5-10 mins of looking like a complete idiot trying to get the damn thing out. My wife took the car once and had to get gas and it got stuck...and she couldn't get it out! She had to call for help from the gas station attendant and felt so embarrassed. Even he spent almost 5 mins trying and was concerned he would damage the car.
Seriously, this capless "feature" is complete and utter crap.
Does anyone have any foolproof trick to getting the nozzle out? I push it back in further, I pull it, I twist it 90 degrees/180 degrees, change the angle slightly, repeat, over and over again until finally it comes free.
Luckily after being thoroughly frustrated I can just look at the car for a brief second and I'm back to being happy and can't wait to get back in it and drive it!
