I know that beyond a certain speed, the Camaro loses steam because of gearing, but that's well into the triple digits.

well for myself, because I dont really care what a car runs stock because I will never leave it that way. I buy a car with mod potential as a priority...that's the fun part of owning it for me.
I cant regulate what the competition has done to their cars at the track or in passing on the street so staying stock is a recipe for 2nd place finishes and lack of interest for me.
