About those batteries…turns out replacing them is a wee bit expensive.

“Labor costs are substantial, and DIY replacements are not feasible, further adding to expenses.…Real-life instances illustrate the wide range of potential costs. For example, reports include a 2018 Model 3 Long Range replacement costing $13,093, while a 2012 Model S required a $16,579 battery replacement, significantly impacting its value.”

Darn, that gas tax EV owners get to avoid…looks like governments are deciding the free ride is over.

“Additionally, they point out that EVs tend to be heavier than their gas-powered brethren, which has a negative impact on the roads they drive over.

"EVs tend to be heavier than similar internal combustion vehicles and cause more wear and tear on provincial roadways while their owners pay no fuel tax."

As I drink my coffee and smile at the smoking rubble of the EV market one word comes to mind…Schadenfreude.

“EV Tough Market

Ford’s EV sales should be better, even in a challenging market. Its two main EVs are among the industry’s most well-known brands. It has been unable to move that brand power to its two new vehicles. The Mustang, first built in 1964, is a prime example. It has been America’s iconic sports car for over half a century. The brand has been slapped onto an EV crossover, and it has not worked.

Ford’s primary EV fleet goals won’t be met by 2030. Not only are its models unpopular. EV sales growth has weakened. Some of this has been blamed on high prices, long charging times, and low battery ranges. None of this has mattered.”

Sounds like some of the wacky stuff Wyzz_Kidd would say, but he’s not here anymore… or is he?

Anyway, I’m trying to make it a point not to go for the cheese in these threads, and this is definitely cheese. Instead, I will focus on providing new information and/or products, good or bad, for those on this thread that actually have an interest in learning what’s going on in the EV world as opposed to just pi$$ing in the punch bowl.

So, with that in mind, it looks like Fisker is going to work with Nissan to
A) Build Fisker pickup EVs at a Nissan plant and/or
B) Allow Nissan to build the pickup with a Nissan badge from Fisker intellectual property.
