If it's any consolation, pulling the 2016-2018 rear bumper will very likely break the bumper support in the center, under the bowtie, as the glue used for the plastic support plate is weaker than the clips and there is literally 0 access from behind (ask me how I know).

I did break the center plastic support.
Oh well it can't stay new forever! lol. Looks like it'll be ok and worst case, just buy and spray a new bumper for the car.
