Nobody said these cars were identical per se, what was said is they are almost identical apart from the supercharger and the related supporting components.

Needless to say, I'm fully aware the 2SS 1LE is not exactly the same a ZL1, but for all practical purposes it's a ZL1 minus 200 crank horsepower. Looks are subjective.

for what it's worth though, yes they share a lot of the same components. That's why I went with the zl1 and not the zl1 1le actually. zl1 has totally capable track components as it is since it shares a lot of the ss 1le parts (which is an already great track/street ready car). Alpha chassis, suspension, struts -- once you swap the bushings to the zl1 1le parts as well it really tightens up the rear end. the LT4 -- 11 heat exchangers, the blower, fueling system, forged internals, warranty, etc etc are all the nice things you get on top of the track ready zl1 vs the 1le
