But the point I brought it up to make, was simply that the architecture is compact. A tight fit. The C7's 7-speed manual didn't fit in the tunnel, as an example.

I think that was a rumor that "the pill" started. It wouldn't make sense for the Alpha chassis to not be designed for a V8, since the Camaro was planned to be on that platform from the beginning, AND the Cadillac was going to have a V8 anyway (CTS-V).
