I switched my 2018 ZL1 to the 0w40 ESP2 2 oil changes ago. I am now at 14k mile mile and I have had to add a quart in between oil changes. Seems to need another quart after about 3000 miles.

I do not recall this being the case with the original 5w30 formula.

No, there is no oil on the floor of my garage. I have seen others on the forum talk about this as well. My guess is that the thinner oil can get past the rings or valve seals and gets burned up... though I have no direct evidence of this.

I only know that the behavior started after switching oil viscosity. Since she is running great, it doesn't really bother me.

Should it?
