As most have already told you, the Goodyears and pretty much Race Tires in my opinion. I'm in California and it rarely even rains here but when it did, it scared the shit outta me.
Ditched the Goodyears for the Michelin. Far better tire for a street car. I'm pretty much just like you. I don't track my ZL1 but I try to make my commute to and from the office as fun as possible. I remember the tire guy saying, "but these tires still have meat on them".... I didn't care. Until they heat up, the Goodyears are crap. Its like driving on glass.
