Nope
Normally the automatic transmission decides what the proper gear is based on speed, throttle position, drive mode, transmission mode as well as other inputs and parameters.
You can manually downshift with the left hand side paddle (and upshift with its right hand side counterpart). Alternatively, you can push the shift lever to the left to engage manual mode, and then shift up by pushing the lever up (forward), and down similarly, using opposite input.
Don't be afraid of missing a shift or switching to the wrong gear, the computer will prevent that, you can't do any serious harm to the transmission (but you probably do not want to go over 4000 rpm during the break-in period, so don't be too heavy handed with those downshifts).
