Real truth that I have seen at the dragstrip is, those guys are indeed blowing hot air.
Comparing seemingly-stock Coyote Mustangs (auto) to my stock 6th-gen SS (auto) here:
2011-2017 Coyote Mustangs are much slower than the SS. Seriously, should be an easy win for you.
2018 Coyote Mustangs with the A10 trans come close to the SS, but they still are not actually quicker. They should be able to make it a close race though, so don't nap at the tree.
