GM uses a lower boiling point fluid (DOT 3) as the factory fill because it has greater longevity and it is less hygroscopic than DOT 4. DOT 4 is more track appropriate for obvious reasons. The factory fill is appropriate for all street use and most owners will never go on track. It is easy to bleed/swap so no worries.
