Not usually as dramatic as depicted in the video. Usually your brake pedal has more and more travel until, in extreme cases, the pedal goes all the way to the floor without any braking
With Castrol SRF, and depending on your usage, you can leave in for a year usually, but to each their own and check for yourself
There are other substitutes such as motul but you will need to change more often. Super blue or something like that is supposed to be very good as well.
