I finally broke a couple last year on over 16 lbs of boost. Stock rings just don't have enough gap. Some like Speed Engineering tore their motors down and opened the ring gap to solve some of the issue when the stock rings want to butt together which is what happened to mine and then it tends to break the ring lands. On my new motor we opened that gap per Manley Pistons recommendations for boosted engines.
