The only way a fram filter will void the warranty is one of two scenarios.

1. The OEM offers free of charge the oem filter.

2. They can prove that the filter caused the damage.

#1 is not applicable, and #2 should be requested in writing and is very unlikely

Fram Ultra (which is a step above the extended guard tested on that site, which bested even Royal Purple due to capacity and price) is what I use. That AC Delco on there is garbage. Hopefully that's not the same AC Delco filter used by the OEM ( though i get the feeling it is).
