Question about Costly Repair

Hey all!

I daily drive a 2016 Camaro 2SS that has just over 62,000 miles.

Recently I have noticed that engine oil is leaking in my driveway. After taking the car to a Chevy dealership, they let me know that the oil pan gasket is leaking. They said that while the gasket is cheap, the labor cost for repair would be just under $2,000.

Is this a fair price? I was told the engine would have to be removed from the car to access the repair.

My first thought was to use ATP AT-205 Reseal, but according to my service guy the oil pan gasket isn't rubber but instead a type of silicone liquid of types. Is this true?

Thanks in advance to any help!
