When the 6th Gen came out, I priced an exact match of my '11 (2SS convertible, manual) just for the heck of it. The sticker was $10k more than the sticker on my car. Talk about a punch in the face. I'd love to see a handful of V8 engine options (or Camaro exclusivity), but "sticker shock" would increase tenfold.

I was being serious. I actually do love Corvette hand-me-downs (including my LS3). Especially in this case if it means 500HP stock SS.
