Cool 2022 Camaro Gets New RAPID BLUE Color. Debuting at Daytona 500 This Weekend

Update: confirmed this news from Chevy's pressroom.

"The Corvette-exclusive Rapid Blue color is featured on each vehicle and will make its debut as an available option on the 2022 Camaro."

Press Release:

Sunday, February 14 represents Valentine’s Day. And if you’re a couple that enjoys motorsports, Nascar specifically, you’re in luck! The 2021 Daytona 500 happens to fall on the same day, and if you’re a Chevrolet fan, the news gets even better: three different vehicles representing the bowtie brand will assume pace car duties through the weekend. They are: the 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 RST, 2021 Corvette Stingray Coupe, and 2022 Chevrolet Camaro SS 1LE.

All three Chevrolet pace cars will be painted in Rapid Blue, which becomes available to the 2022 Camaro after being exclusive to the C8 Corvette. The Silverado will simply dress the part for the race. Each Rapid Blue, small-block V8-powered vehicle will pace a different race for the weekend, as follows:

2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 RST: NASCAR Camping World Truck Series’ NextEra Energy 250 at 7:30 p.m. ET on Friday, February 12
2022 Chevrolet Camaro SS 1LE: Xfinity Series’ Beef. It’s What’s For Dinner. 300 at 5 p.m. ET on Saturday, February 13
2021 Corvette Stingray: 2021 Daytona 500, Sunday, February 14 at 2:30 p.m. ET.

This marks the sixth time a Corvette has paced the Daytona 500. Overall, Chevrolet has paced The Great American Race 14 times, and had cars winning the race a record 24 times. In total, Chevy says that its pace cars total 1,370 horsepower from 24 naturally aspirated cylinders. Glorious.

Along with the 2022 Chevrolet Camaro, 2021 Corvette and 2021 Silverado, Team Chevy will present a behind-the-scenes look at elements of Daytona’s history and the technology used in current Daytona races.

The showcase is called “Live from Daytona,” and will also showcase the striking GM Firebird I concept, which is the vehicle that depicted as the Harley J. Earl trophy that goes to the race winner. The activation will also feature both the Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 1LE street and NASCAR Cup Series cars, and feature the 2021 Daytona 500 Corvette pace car for an up-close view.

“Live from Daytona” is presented by Chevy MyWay, a virtual showroom-like studio, providing customers a new and innovative way to interact with Chevrolet products. The free 20-minute broadcast is open to all, and begins Saturday, Feb. 13, at 11 a.m. ET on Chevrolet.com/myway.
