I currently have the AS-05 and it's so far been good to me. It's got less grip on the twisties and tight turns compared to the runflats. Stand still never tested. General driving it's great and feels better when cruising around. Perfect for places that may see rain since it handles MILES better than the GoodYears. All in all it's definitely a great choice for an all rounder.
An alternative for SoCal would be the Indy 500s. Budget summer tires with good performance. Since you guys hardly see rai (correct me if I'm wrong) it doesn't seem worthwhile to get all seasons unless if there's plans to go up north from time to time.
